The Citizens Amendment

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution

"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ."

We the people have been too complacent for too long about the workings of our Congress. It is time we make ourselves heard. Many citizens have no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they do not pay into Social Security, or that they specifically have, and will continue to, exempt themselves from many of the laws they pass that all other citizens must live by (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment). The latest is to exempt themselves from the Health Care Reform that is being considered...in all of its forms. That doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly do not care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or another. The self-serving must stop. Our politicians must be held accountable.

This is a good way to do that. It is an idea whose time is long over due.

The only problem with this amendment is that it would have to be introduced in the same house and senate chambers harboring the same political criminals who would be affected by it. What do you think the chances are this would ever see the light of day?

However, it doesn't matter. It fires people up. It sends a message that 'WE THE PEOPLE' are fed up!!!

Spread the word!!!

In light of the exemption congress made for not only itself, but also all of its staffers and other personnel, including the president and his family and all their staff …..the message is clear. Those exempted from this horrendous health care bill are the “elite” either by fortune or by office and as such will not be subjected to the same invasive overtaking of healthcare by the government. With this elitism in mind, I offer you this amendment to the Constitution for the (50) United States.

Enough is enough!!!
